We are proud to announce that The McCarton Foundation for Developmental Disabilities, Inc. ("The McCarton Foundation") is offering a financial aid program for students enrolled at The McCarton School for the 2006-2007 academic year.
The McCarton School is committed to a tuition and after-school aid program designed to ensure that its educational offerings are open to all candidates. Awards provided by The McCarton Foundation range from partial to full tuition and after-school assistance. Awards may be structured as either grants or loans. Please note that after-school services provided by The McCarton Center are not eligible for financial assistance by The McCarton Foundation
All financial aid decisions are made on the basis of need and merit. Any applicant may apply for aid. Applicants for tuition and after-school aid must file a Parent Financial Statement (PFS) with the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS). In addition to submitting (i) the PFS form with the required fee to the SSS no later than April 21st, 2006, families should also forward (ii) The McCarton Foundation Additional Questionnaire to The McCarton Foundation (Attn: Harvey Weissman) also by April 21, 2006. An application for financial aid is independent of an application for admission. Decisions regarding amounts of financial assistance will be determined by the Scholarship Committee of the Board of The McCarton Foundation.
Under federal law, your respective school district and/or Department of Education is required to provide every child under its jurisdiction with a free appropriate public education. The purpose of this financial aid program is not to relieve the Department of Education or any school district of this obligation. The program is intended to provide financial assistance to families who cannot advance moneys for or fund, to any extent, the cost of tuition and after-school therapy that is not reimbursed or otherwise paid for by the relevant school district. Awards will be made on the condition that the recipient actively pursue payment from the relevant school district
Please contact Valrie Chambers at 212-996-9019 if you are interested in receiving a Financial Aid application package. For questions, please contact Harvey Weissman at 646-277-5422. The deadline for submission of a financial aid application is April 21st, 2006..
